Charity Fundraising

Our main charity for academic year 2011 to 2012 is Walking With The Wounded

During the academic year 2010 to 2011, staff, pupils, parents and friends of the school raised money for various charities, these included donations to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, Age UK, CAFOD, British Heart Foundation, The RNLI, Walking With The Wounded, The Children's Society, The Meningitis Trust and The Edmund Rice Foundation.

Many thanks for your continued support of our worthy causes.

The Donna Louise Hospice 'Every Toy Counts' Appeal

Many thanks to all the parents and children who supported this appeal, we were able to take our mini bus full of donated toys to the hospice. They were gratefully received and will be distributed to their shops and sold in order to raise money for this worthwhile cause.

Supporting Captain Ben Harrop in the London Marathon 2010

The PTA recently helped Captain Ben Harrop to support the Royal Star and Garter Homes during his record - breaking London Marathon carrying 60lbs.  An article about this can be read here.

Ben also sends us a personal message:
"...Many thanks for your generosity at the recent PTA Ball. I surpassed my fundraising target of £2300 and raised nearly £2600 (over £3000 with Gift Aid) for the Royal Star and Garter Homes.  Spurred on by your generosity I managed to break the World Record as well!  Thank you so much, Ben."

Children with filled shoe boxesOperation Christmas Child 2011

Each year the children at St Joseph's support the Samaritans' Purse charity by putting together Christmas boxes. Operation Christmas Child brings joy, hope and the Good News of God's love to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes.  Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe.  People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas and sharing God's love with those less fortunate than ourselves. For more information, see Samaritan's Purse website.
