Here we are at the last week of the Autumn term looking forward to Christmas.
Pre Prep certainly introduced us to the spirit of Christmas last Thursday and Friday when they did an excellent job of telling the Christmas story in our Nativity “Shine Star Shine”. We enjoyed two super afternoons. Thank you to all the Pre Prep / Reception children and to all the staff who worked so very hard to make this so enjoyable.
We are now looking forward to more Christmas events.
On Tuesday Father Rob will be in school to lead our special Christmas assembly for the Early Years Department and Pre Prep 1. This is for the children only.
On Tuesday evening at 7pm the Prep children will be leading our Christmas Service at Holy Trinity Church, Newcastle. We very much look forward to welcoming you to share this special time with us. All pupils must arrive by 6.45pm.
The Choir are singing beautifully this year and are out singing Christmas Carols at Trentham Gardens on Wednesday at around 1-30pm. We usually sing from the shopping street (by the Visitor Centre), so look forward to seeing you there.
The Early Years Department are out on Wednesday afternoon at the New Victoria Theatre, they are involved in a workshop specially designed for young children.
On Thursday the Choir are on their travels again, this time singing at The Meadows Home in Bentilee; this has become an annual event which we enjoy and we know brings a smile to the residents at Christmas.
It is also Christmas lunch on Thursday for all the children; all the Christmas crackers are at the ready!
We look forward to the annual Nursery Festive Fun afternoon on Thursday at 2pm. This is always a relaxed and happy occasion and one that we enjoy sharing with parents and carers.
Friday sees our Christmas film; this is an opportunity for the whole school to relax a little and start to enjoy Christmas together.
We have a special visitor in The Pre Prep on Friday morning!?
The children from Pre Prep 2 to Prep 6 will be taking part in our Advent Mass lead by Father Julian at St Teresa’s Church. This will commence at 2pm. Prep 5 will be leading the Readings, Offertory and Prayers. All welcome.
School closes at 3-25pm with Joes Club as usual until 5-50pm.
We end the term with the PTA Christmas disco, 6-30 to 8-00pm. Admission is £2 payable on the door. All Nursery children will need to have parental care.
All the school family at St Joseph’s Prep wish you a very Happy and Holy Christmas.
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment In which the Son of God was born Of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires,
through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.
