Mrs S and Mrs A Hutchinson both found the Edmund Rice Schools Conference held at Hayes Centre, Swanwick last week very informative. We continue to work together with other Christian Brothers Schools to try and develop links with each other and the wider Edmund Rice Network. It was good to hear of the work that the Christian Brothers achieve world-wide.
Monday sees Father Rob in school to bless the whole school and community. We are always grateful to Father for his guidance.
On Tuesday we wish Mr Dawes well as he takes his Mini bus driving test.
On Wednesday our Prep 6 girls go to spend a taster day at St Dominic’s Priory, Stone. This is an annual event and one which the girls enjoy and helps them as they decide with their parents what the next step after St Joseph’s will be.
Don’t forget that on Friday we have our CAFOD Family Fast Day. Children forfeit their snacks and bring in £1 for those less fortunate than ourselves. At break time the children are given a piece of fresh bread to help them reflect on the fact that for some children this is all that they may eat all day.
Mr Joe Andrew from CAFOD is coming to lead our assembly at 1-00pm.
Eco school news; we are starting to compost in our new bins. The Eco Club met last week and decided that our focus should be conserving energy and making the other children aware of keeping the school litter free.
We are still waiting for the arrival of baby Simpson!
