Week Beginning 13/06/2011

We had a successful last week finishing 6th at the ISA athletics with one P5 boy going forward to National Championships.

We really enjoyed the presentation given by Captain Martin Hewitt, his talk about his exploits at the North Pole kept the children riveted and inspired some excellent question.

We had a very enjoyable and successful time at our Family Fun afternoon and BBQ on Saturday 11th June. I will update the final total once we have it. It was lovely to welcome so many people both current and new parents. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the day.

We are currently watching the weather and hoping that everything dries up so that Prep sports Day can go ahead, sadly we have had to cancel Pre Prep Sports Day due to the weather  and the danger of slipping. The days of “flaming June” seems to have passed! We will update on Prep Sports day at 11-00am today, 13th June.

Tonight we welcome parents to our Cheese and Wine and Transfer evening; this is for new parents, plus current Nursery who go to Reception in September. Current Reception parents. Current PP2 parents and current P5 parents. This event begins at 7-30 pm.

On Tuesday 14th June we have team photographs followed in the afternoon by our First Holy Communion and Confirmation Celebration Mass at 2-00pm, we look forward to celebrating with all the children who have received the Sacraments within their own parish during this year.

On Wednesday during break time we will hold a small party for all the First Communion and Confirmation candidates.

Weather permitting we will try again to host the ISA tennis tournament on Thursday, we had to cancel it last week due the wet weather.

Friday sees P6 accompanied by Miss Buttery, Mr Ferris and Mrs Hutchinson off to Drayton Manor Park for their end of P6 treat. We pray for decent weather although the children normally have a super time whatever the weather.
